Studio life - testing out some new Farrow and Ball paint colour samples, Douter,Scallop and Reduced Green

The studio is due a refresh, and as we are obsessed with all things interior design we bought some of the new Farrow and Ball colours to test out. It was super interesting to see how the artwork changed in feel with the differing colours behind it. The colours I have been trying out this week are Scallop, Douter and Reduced Green in the Estate Emulsion finish on some board I had in the studio, so that I can move them around the different rooms and see how they work in different lights.

First we tried experimenting with some our more colourful pieces 'Blossom' and 'Garland' on Scallop, finding it gives a beautiful warm glow which works well with both lighter and darker tones. We found this combination had a better effect than the white porcelain and gave a stronger overall look.

Next up, we tried the white porcelain of 'Garland' on Douter. The contrast has a bright, fresh feel.

And finally, 'Garland' on Reduced Green. The more powerful contrast gives a richer feel which has more striking effect. Which is your favourite?
